Wilhelm Schmidt (politician, 1877)

Wilhelm Schmidt (born September 5, 1877 in Hamburg , † after 1953) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Schmidt had been a member of the SPD since 1903. He served as a soldier in the First World War . In 1918 he was elected to the Central Workers 'and Peasants' Council in Mecklenburg-Strelitz . Until 1933 he was a member of the state parliament of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and a member of the finance commission. After the National Socialists came to power , he was imprisoned several times.
