Wilhelm Simon (politician)
Wilhelm Simon (born June 18, 1833 in Cologne ; † July 1, 1916 ) was a German railway manager and parliamentarian.
Life
Wilhelm Simon studied at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1854 he became a member of the Corps Vandalia Heidelberg . In 1855 he joined the Corps Palatia Bonn . After completing his studies, he worked in the administration of the Prussian State Railways from 1861 to 1873 . From 1873 until the nationalization in 1884 he was chairman of the board of directors of the private Berlin-Hamburg railway .
From 1889 to 1893 Simon sat as a member of the constituency of Breslau 7 (Waldenburg, Reichenbach) in the Prussian House of Representatives . In 1893 he was a member of the budget commission. He was a member of the parliamentary group of the National Liberal Party , of which he was a member from 1893 to 1911.
