Wilhelm Stabernack
Wilhelm Stabernack (* 1923 in Frankfurt am Main ; † September 24, 1999 ) was a German entrepreneur.
Career
Stabernack first studied medicine before he was drafted into military service in 1943. After the end of the war he studied business administration in Frankfurt. In 1949 he took over the management of the family company Gustav Stabernack GmbH, which was founded in Offenbach in 1879 . He rebuilt the company in Lauterbach, which had been destroyed after the war . After the division of the company between him and his half-brother Gustav, he developed his company into one of the leading European packaging and display manufacturers by taking over Schröter + Bake AG in Neutraubling and building a new branch in Rumburg (Czech Republic). For health reasons, he retired from operational business in mid-1998.
On the occasion of his 60th birthday in 1983, he founded the Wilhelm Stabernack Foundation to promote social causes. Since 1988 he has been chairman of the social security committee of the Association of Hessian Business Associations and from 1993 to 1999 President of the Giessen University Society.
