Wilhelm Themer
Wilhelm Themer , also Wilhelm Thémer (* around 1817 in Düsseldorf ; † September 11, 1849 in Cologne ), was a German landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .
Life
Themer, son of a lawyer, enrolled in painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich on May 4, 1838, at the age of 21 . He was also a student at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . Themer lived and worked in Cologne and exhibited at the Kölnischer Kunstverein . In Düsseldorf in 1843 he published the life and experiences of a painter called Wasi , a work of knitting rhymes with woodcuts for illustration. When he said in a Cologne pub in 1845 about King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. That he was a liar and villain because he did not grant the constitution promised at the coronation , he came into conflict with the judiciary because of insulting majesty . On June 10, 1845, the Cologne chief procurator Müller issued a profile in which the painter Wilhelm Themer, who last lived in Cologne and who had escaped after an investigation against him, was written out for arrest. In 1845 Themer was represented with an evening landscape at an art exhibition in Brussels .
