Wilhelm Tuckermann

Wilhelm Petrus Tuckermann (* 1840 in Schubin / Posen; † 1918 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ) was a German architect and university professor .

Life

Wilhelm Tuckermann studied at the Berlin Bauakademie from 1860 and passed the master builder examination in 1868 . In 1869 he married Ottilie Wiebe in Breslau. In 1872 he went on a study trip to Italy.

From April 1, 1871 to September 30, 1875 he was a lecturer in building design at the Berlin Business Academy . On October 1, 1875, he was appointed building officer for the Imperial Postal Service. From 1878 to 1879 he taught the history of architecture at the Bauakademie and then until 1889 as a private lecturer in Department I for Architecture at the Royal Technical University in the field of demolition of the history of architecture . From 1881 he was also a lecturer in field measurement at the Agricultural University in Berlin.

  • 1894–1901: Extension of the post office building built by Carl Schwatlo in 1867/77 in Berliner Strasse (today Otto-Suhr-Allee 80–82) in Charlottenburg
  • 1881, 1901–1902: Post Office Goethestrasse 2–3 in Charlottenburg (together with Arnold Kayser)
  • 1901–1903, 1907, 1913–1915: Post Office Schöneberg , Hauptstrasse 27 (together with Otto Spalding and Louis Ratzeburg)
  • 1906–1908: Building for the railway post office O17, Fruchtstrasse 8 (today Paris Commune 8) together with Walter Tuckermann
