Wilhelm Werth

Wilhelm Werth (born December 27, 1913 in Saarwellingen , † June 1, 1975 ) was a German lawyer and politician of the SPD .

Life

After attending the humanistic grammar school, Werth studied law at the universities in Heidelberg , Bonn and Freiburg im Breisgau . During his studies he joined the NSDAP on May 1, 1937 ( membership number 5.145.501). In 1939 he passed the first state examination, then went into the Second World War and became a prisoner of war, from which he was released in October 1946.

After his release from captivity, Werth continued his studies, which he finished in 1951 with the second state examination. Werth then worked as a judge for many years, initially at the district courts of Saarbrücken and Perl . In 1952 he was appointed to the District Court Council. In May 1957 he moved to the administrative court in Saarbrücken , where he was appointed first administrative judge and in 1958 administrative director. In January 1959, he moved to the Saarland Constitutional Court in Saarbrücken.

On December 4, 1960, Werth was elected to the Saarland state parliament for the SPD and thus left the administrative court. In 1965 he was re-elected to the state parliament. On March 14, 1968 he was elected parliamentary manager of the SPD parliamentary group. In 1970 he was re-elected to the state parliament, to which he belonged until his death.
