Franz Josef Wilhelm Wiest , from 1833 from Wiest , (born October 5, 1803 in Weingarten-Altdorf , † May 13, 1877 in Ellwangen ) was a German lawyer and politician.

He studied law in Tübingen and Heidelberg . After that he was initially a legal counsel in Ellwangen and from 1826 to 1829 an unskilled worker at the court in Ellwangen. He was an assessor until 1833 and then a judicial advisor until 1836 . He was then a senior judicial officer until 1852. From 1852 to 1854 he was senior tribunal councilor in Stuttgart . Then he was head of the Criminal Senate in Ellwangen until 1870.

politics

He tried to become a member of the Württemberg Chamber of Deputies as early as the 1830s . However, this failed due to the denial of the necessary vacation. It was not until 1848 and 1849 that he was a member of the Chamber for the Oberamt Wangen . He was also a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly for the Saulgau district between May 18, 1848 and May 30, 1849 . He was Catholic-Liberal.
