Wilhelm von Knobelsdorff-Brenkenhoff

Leopold Karl Wilhelm von Knobelsdorff-Brenkenhoff (born December 14, 1769 in Wuthenow ; † November 2, 1848 in Friedeberg (Neumark) ) was a Prussian officer and royal Prussian district administrator in the Friedeberg / Neumark district (1820-1832).

Life

His parents were Friedrich Wilhelm von Knobelsdorff (1744–1813) and his wife Amalie Luise, née von Schmiedeberg (1746–1796) from the Zeinicke family; his brother was the later major general Heinrich von Knobelsdorff .

He was also a knight of the Order of St. John and owner of the Mansfelde manor near Friedeberg. As a Dragoons Lieutenant Colonel , he volunteered in the 1st Neumark Landwehr Cavalry Regiment in 1812 and took part in the Wars of Liberation against Napoleon (1813-1815). During his absence, his wife Franziska Karoline Philippine Elisabeth von Brenkenhoff (1775-1858), daughter of Franz Balthasar Schönberg von Brenkenhoff , ran the estate and raised her seven sons and one daughter.
