The Roman Catholic Wilhelmskapelle is located in the Zimmereckwald in Oberlangenberg in the municipality of Sankt Koloman in the Hallein district in the state of Salzburg . The chapel consecrated to St. Wilhelm of Aquitaine belongs to the Hallein deanery in the Archdiocese of Salzburg . The chapel is a listed building .

history

A chapel there has probably existed since the first half of the 17th century. The current church was built in 1850 and consecrated in 1851. The chapel was expanded in 1889. In 1959 the chapel was restored.

architecture

The Wilhelmskapelle stands between the Trattberg and the Seewaldsee and is a ten-minute walk from the street. The clapboard-clad block building under a gable roof also has a clapboard-clad tower with a tent roof.

Furnishing

The altar shows the altar sheet St. Wilhelm of Aquitaine from the 19th century. There are votive pictures from the 19th century. A late Gothic figure of St. Bishop and Baroque statuettes of Saints Rupert and Virgil from the 18th century are in safekeeping.
