Willi Gerner

Willi Gerner (born December 11, 1939 in Würzburg , † October 30, 2008 in Munich ) was a German trade unionist.

From 1965 Gerner was active in the public services, transport and traffic union (ÖTV). In 1980 he was elected deputy state chairman of ÖTV Bavaria. From 1989 until he retired on August 31, 2002, he was a member of the board of Bayernwerk AG and from July 2000 at E.ON Energie AG . In his role as Labor Director, he played a key role in the creation of a joint collective bargaining agreement for the approximately 22,000 employees of the E.ON Energie Group, which was trend-setting in terms of collective bargaining policy and for the industry.

In addition to his professional sphere of activity, he was an honorary member of the Presidium of the Union's Economic Advisory Board , where he was chairman of the labor market policy working group and, since 2005, chairman of the specialist committee for social and labor market policy.

For his services to the Bavarian economy and his voluntary work, he was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon in 2002 .
