Willi Mittelstädt

Willi Mittelstädt (born August 29, 1947 in Ringenwalde ) is a German politician ( AfD ), member of the AfD parliamentary group and vice-president of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Political career

Mittelstädt was a member of the SED in the GDR .

In 2014 Mittelstädt joined the AfD. In the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2016 , he won the direct mandate in the constituency of Merseburg (constituency 39) with 32.3 percent of the vote and belongs to the AfD parliamentary group in the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt . On September 30, 2016 - after a failed attempt in the state parliament session on September 2, 2016 - he was elected Vice President of the State Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt by the majority of MPs .

Political positions

During the election campaign, Mittelstädt complained about being referred to by the “elites” as “pack” and “scrap”. He presented himself and the AfD as "patriots mocked by elites in the media and politics who fearlessly speak the truth". Chancellor Angela Merkel was said to have "taken prisoners to America".
