Willi Wolf (born February 24, 1924 in Essen-Borbeck ; † September 30, 2007 in Lingen ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school, Wolf completed an apprenticeship as a lathe operator. From 1943 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier in the Navy . At the end of the war he was taken prisoner. He worked as a miner and chopper from 1946 to 1952, joined the IG Bergbau und Energie (IGBE) and attended the Dortmund Social Academy in 1950 after further training with evening courses . From 1952 to 1956 he was youth secretary in Hanover and then branch manager of the IGBE in Lingen .

Political party

Wolf joined the SPD in 1955. From 1957 to 1967 he was chairman of the SPD local association, until 1969 chairman of the SPD district association and in 1969 was elected chairman of the SPD sub-district Lingen.

MP

Wolf was from 1961 to 1974 and from 1976 to 1986 council member of the city ​​of Lingen and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there. In 1976/77 he was a member of the district council of Lingen . After the local reorganization he was a member of the district council of the Emsland district until 1996 . He was a member of the German Bundestag from December 19, 1963, when he replaced the late Member of Parliament Erich Ollenhauer , until 1976. He was always drawn into parliament via the Lower Saxony state list.
