William Bishop (actor)

William Paxton Bishop (born July 16, 1918 in Oak Park , Illinois - † October 3, 1959 in Malibu , California ) was an American actor .

Life

After graduating from high school, William Bishop attended West Virginia University , where he began a law degree , which he dropped out when he discovered his love for acting. After a short stay at the Mercury Theater in New York City , he went to Hollywood , where he initially received a contract with the MGM film company .

After a few small supporting roles, which he held in various films in 1943, Bishop was drafted into the US Army in 1944. After completing his military service he went back to Hollywood in 1946, where he worked in more than 50 films and television series until his death in 1959. William Bishop died on October 3, 1959, from cancer . He was buried in the Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Santa Monica , California .
