William Dillard

William Thomas Dillard (born September 2, 1914 in Mineral Springs , Arkansas , † February 8, 2002 in Little Rock , Arkansas) was an American entrepreneur .

Life

Dillard studied at the University of Arkansas and Columbia University . In 1938 he founded the US retail company Dillard’s in Nashville, Arkansas. Over the years, he established other department store branches. Dillard was married to Alexa Latimer and had five children.
