William Levy (Author)

William Levy (born January 10, 1939 in Baltimore , Maryland , † April 22, 2019 in Amsterdam ) was an American writer , editor and radio host .

biography

Levy studied at the University of Maryland and Temple University in Philadelphia . He taught in the literature department at Shippensburg State College in Pennsylvania . In 1966 he left the United States to live in Europe.

In the 1960s and 1970s Levy was the founder and editor of a number of magazines such as The Insect Trust Gazette , International Times , Suck and The Fanatic . He was the European editor of the American glossy magazines High Times and Penthouse . Levy was also co-editor of the Amsterdam magazines Het Weight , Ins & Outs , La Linea and Atom Club .

Levy wrote for Exquisite Corpse and Libido magazines . In 1998 he received the "Erotic Oscar" for his contributions to the London "Sex Maniac's Ball".

For twenty years, William Levy worked as “Dr. Doo Wop ”a radio show in Amsterdam.
