Sir William Parker , iure uxoris 9th Baron Morley, († 1510 ) was an English nobleman .

Life

Sir William Parker was a devoted supporter of the House of York and fought with Edward IV in Scotland in 1482 , where he was knighted in Edinburgh . Richard III made him his standard bearer and appointed Sir William to his Privy Council .

On August 22, 1485, Sir William fought for his king at the Battle of Bosworth .

In 1489 his wife became the only heir to the 9th Baroness Morley and Sir William thereby iure uxoris 9th Baron Morley and hereditary Marshal of Ireland .

As a loyal Yorkist, Sir William was never called to parliament under Henry VII and is said to have spent most of Henry's reign, imprisoned in the Tower of London until his own death .

Sir William died in 1510.

Marriage and offspring

Sir William married Alice Lovel, 9th Baroness Morley , daughter of William Lovel, 7th Baron Lovel , 4th Baron Holand († 1476) and the Alianore Lovel, 7th Baroness Morley (1442-1476) at the latest in 1486 . The couple had a son:
