William Pitt Adams
William Pitt Adams (born December 11, 1804 in Bowden, Devon, † September 4, 1852 in Lima ) was a British diplomat .
Life
William Pitt Adams was the eldest son of William Dacres Adams. He was married to Georgiana Emily Lukin (born February 5, 1815, † January 23, 1892 in Luxor ) and had a daughter with her.
From 1835 to 1842 was William Pitt Adams d'affaires in Colombia. As such, he negotiated an agreement against the slave trade with the government of the Republic of New Granada on December 13, 1838 . After William Turner left Colombia on March 5, 1838, Adams was chargé d'affaires at the embassy until April 1, 1842 .
Adams was recalled from Colombia on August 4, 1841. From March 20, 1844, he was accredited to the Peruvian government in Lima . As a result of a dispute with the Peruvian government, he left Peru in 1846, but returned to Lima before February 20, 1848.
