William Pullen (actor)

William Augustus Pullen ( Bill Pullen , born November 11, 1917 in Seattle , Washington , † December 8, 2008 in Barstow , California ) was an American actor and teacher.

Life

Pullen left his hometown as a teenager and worked for several years on steamers on the Seattle- Shanghai route, where he also learned Mandarin . During the Second World War he was stationed as a Chinese teacher in Roswell (New Mexico) . An acting training followed; he has appeared on stage and in film, in commercials and in television series episodes. Pullen played about 40 roles from 1949 to 1963, then he retired from the business and lived as a teacher in Barstow, California. He taught at Barstow Community College until 1987 and spent his years in Hawaii from 1992 .
