When Clay O'Mara learns that cattle thieves have murdered his father and younger brother, he seeks revenge. Since the murderers were not caught, he travels to the small town of Santiago to investigate the murder of his family members and to arrest the perpetrators. He receives support from Sheriff Fred Kenyon and the lawyer Tom Meredith and is appointed deputy sheriff. The sheriff finally leads him on the trail of Whitey Kincade, who is said to be responsible for the murders. Clay manages to capture the dangerous gunslinger and puts him on trial. However, the alleged criminal is acquitted and slowly the truth comes to light, namely that Kenyon and Meredith are the real culprits.
