William Adam Reid (born October 28, 1958 in Glasgow , Scotland ) is a British guitarist and composer .

Life

William and his brother Jim Reid formed the (sometimes unstable) core of the band The Jesus and Mary Chain . Their early sound was carried by Reid's extremely distorted full resonance guitar, so that parts of the music often sounded like white noise . Reid ended the fraternal collaboration abruptly in late 1998 when he left a show at the House of Blues after 15 minutes of performance .

In 1999 Reid began as a soloist under the name Lazycame . He was also involved in the production of the Siser Vanilla album Little Pop Rock , which starred Lina Reid, the younger sister of the Reid brothers.

The Jesus and Mary Chain was revived in early 2007 to play concerts in the US and Europe.

Reid currently lives in the United States and Thailand. He has a son born in 2000 with his ex-wife.
