House of Blues

House of Blues is an American company that operates multiple music venues in the United States. The company was founded by Isaac Tigrett , co-founder of Hard Rock Cafe , and actor and musician Dan Aykroyd . The venues are characterized by daily live music combined with cuisine inspired by the American South .

history

The first House of Blues opened in 1992 in the Harvard Square District of Cambridge , Massachusetts . In addition to Trigett and Aykroyd, the donors include Aerosmith , Paul Shaffer , River Phoenix , James Belushi and Harvard University . The first House of Blues has now closed. Dan Aykroyd and James Belushi remained closely connected to the House of Blues, so they often opened new venues.

On July 5, 2006, House of Blues was acquired by Live Nation , a Beverly Hills , California-based concert promoter. There are currently 13 venues under the House of Blues brand .
