William Spencer (athlete)

William Spencer ( William Octavius ​​Spencer; born July 30, 1900 in Jackson , Tennessee , † July 14, 1983 in Starkville , Mississippi ) was an American middle-distance and obstacle runner .

At the Olympic Games he was eliminated in Paris in 1924 over 1500 m in the preliminary run and in 1928 in Amsterdam he was eighth over 3000 m obstacle.

In 1928 he became US champion over 3000 m obstacle.
