William Taubman
William Chase Taubman (born November 13, 1940 in New York City ) is an American political scientist .
Life
William Chase Taubman attended the Bronx High School of Science and studied at Harvard University , where he received his bachelor's degree in 1962 . He then studied at Columbia University , where he received his degree in 1965 and in 1969 received his doctorate . He is currently the Bertrand Snell Professor of Political Science at Amherst College . He is mainly concerned with the time and the presidency of Nikita Sergejewitsch Khrushchev . His biography Khrushchev: The Man and His Era , published about him in 2004 , won a Pulitzer Prize for Best Biography and a National Book Critics Circle Award .
