William Wallace (philosopher)
William Wallace (born May 11, 1844 in Cupar , † February 18, 1897 ) was a Scottish philosopher.
He studied at the University of St Andrews and from 1864 at Balliol College , Oxford . In 1872 he became a fellow at Merton College , Oxford and in 1882, succeeding Thomas Hill Green , professor of moral philosophy.
Wallace is best known for his Hegel translations and Hegel interpretations. He found a close relationship between the positions of Hegel and Charles Darwin .
He died in a bicycle accident.
