William West, 3rd Earl De La Warr

William Augustus West, 3rd Earl De La Warr ( April 27, 1757 - January 1783 ) was a British nobleman , politician and military man.

He was the eldest son of John West, 2nd Earl De La Warr and his wife Mary Wynyard. From 1766 he carried the courtesy title Viscount Cantelupe .

He was trained at Eton College and pursued a career as an officer in the British military. In 1774 he reached the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Coldstream Guards .

When his father died on November 22, 1777, he inherited his title of nobility and the associated seat in the House of Lords .

He died in January 1783 at the age of 25, unmarried and childless. His younger brother John West inherited his title of nobility .
