William Whyte (athlete)
William Whyte ( William Miller "Tickle" Whyte; born August 16, 1903 in Melbourne , † November 1964 ) was an Australian middle-distance runner .
In 1928 he was ninth at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam over 1500 m and was eliminated over 800 m in the preliminary run. At the British Empire Games in Hamilton in 1930 , he won silver in the mile run .
In 1924 and 1926 he was Australasian champion over 880 yards and in 1930 Australian champion in the mile run.
