from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

William d'Aubigny, 4th Earl of Arundel (* around 1203; † before August 7, 1224 ) was an English magnate .

He came from the Anglo-Norman family Aubigny and was the eldest son of William d'Aubigny, 3rd Earl of Arundel and Mabel of Chester. His father died on his way back from the Crusade of Damiette in Italy in early 1221 , so William inherited the family's extensive estates and the title of Earl of Arundel . However, he died three years later and was buried in the Wymondham Abbey Family Foundation in Norfolk .

William had probably remained unmarried. His heir became his younger brother Hugh . After he died childless in 1243, the family's possessions were divided between their four sisters and their descendants.
