Willie Cobbs

Willie Cobbs (born July 15, 1932 in Smale , Arkansas , United States ) is an American blues singer and harmonica player . His best-known song is You Don't Love Me from 1960, which was recorded by numerous artists - from Junior Wells to the Allman Brothers . In the more than five decades of his career, Cobbs has performed with almost every blues musician of renown.

Cobbs moved from Arkansas to Chicago in 1947 , where he met blues musicians like Little Walter and Eddie Boyd . With You Don't Love Me he had his first hit in 1960. In the following decades he continued to make recordings, at times on his own record labels (Riceland, Ricebelt, C&F). He appeared at various blues festivals and had minor appearances in films, such as B. Mississippi Masala (1991). Over time, Cobbs ran various blues clubs.

The album Hey Little Girl was released in 1986, then Down to Earth in 1994 .
