from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Willy Koch (before 1895 - after March 1927) was a German theater actor and radio play speaker .

Life

Koch had been on the stage since 1895. He began his theater career in Lübeck , where he stayed for two years, came to Stralsund in 1898 and joined the Association of the Court Theater in Neustrelitz in 1900 . Both as a bon vivant and as a young comedian , he achieved great success. Ludwig Eisenberg wrote about Koch:

“'Reif-Reiflingen' in War and Peace , 'Baberly' in Charley's aunt, etc. were effective achievements by Koch. He was very versatile and represented all subjects with luck. His warm, lively game suited him perfectly. "

- Ludwig Eisenberg

The New Theater Almanac and the German Stage Yearbook for 1914 list him as chief director of a play in the natural theater of the Centenary Exhibition in Breslau in 1913.

From 1924 or 1925, Koch worked extensively as a radio play speaker at the Schlesische Funkstunde in Breslau. The ARD radio play database records 66 radio plays, at that time still called "broadcast games", in which he participated as a speaker within the years from 1924 to 1927, between February 7, 1925 and April 5, 1927. All productions were broadcast live without recording. After this time his track is lost.
