Willy Wedler

Willy Wedler (born May 15, 1943 in Steinhöring ) is a Bremen politician ( FDP ) and former member of the Bremen Parliament .

Wedler spent most of his school days in Gerolstein , but passed his Abitur in 1963 in Hanover . In 1970 he completed his studies in economics at the Universities of Cologne and Kiel with a degree in economics. He then worked at the data center of Schleswig-Holstein and for the state data protection officer of the state of Bremen until his retirement in June 2003.

politics

Wedler joined the FDP in 1975. For this he was also active in local politics in Schleswig-Holstein. In mid-1985 he became a member of the FDP district committee in Bremerhaven. From 1987 to 1995 he was a city councilor for his party in Bremerhaven. From 1996 to the beginning of 2004 Willy Wedler was chairman of the FDP district association in Bremerhaven and from 1999 to 2004 deputy state chairman of the FDP.

In the state election of 2003 , the FDP was only able to achieve 4.21% nationwide, due to a special feature of Bremen's electoral law - it is sufficient to overcome the five percent hurdle in the city of Bremen or in the city of Bremerhaven - was able to achieve 5.71% in Bremerhaven Wedler move into the citizenship as the only member of his party in 2003.
