Wilson Sanabria

Wilson Sanabria Mendoza (* around 1950 ; † around September 30, 2015 in José Ignacio ), was a Uruguayan entrepreneur and politician of the Partido Colorado .

Life

Sanabria owned several media companies and began his political career within the Partido Colorado in the late 1960s during the tenure of party leader Ginés Cairo Medina .

In the elections of November 26, 1989 , Sanabria was elected as a supporter of President Julio María Sanguinetti for the Foro Batllista of the Partido Colorado as a member of the Chamber of Deputies ( Cámara de Representantes ) and was initially a member from February 15, 1990 to February 14, 1995 .

After the resignation of Walter Belvisi, he moved up on April 4, 1995 as a member of the Senate ( Cámara de Senadores ) and in 1999 became First Vice President of the Senate. In the elections of October 31, 1999 , he was re-elected Senator and in 2003 was again First Vice President of the Senate. He decided not to run again in the elections on October 31, 2004 and thus resigned from the Senate on February 14, 2005.

The marriage of Sanabria to Esmeralda Barrios Fígolí resulted in three children, including Francisco Sanabria, who is also a member of the Chamber of Deputies as a representative of the Partido Colorado.
