The Es Milà wind farm ( Parc eòlic d'Es Milà in Catalan , Parque eólico de Es Milà in Spanish ) consists of four wind turbines on the Balearic island of Menorca . The park is located near the capital Maó on the hill of Es Milà .

General

The wind turbines are of the Made-Endesa AE-59 type. They have rotors with a diameter of 59 meters, a total height of 79.5 meters above the ground and each have a rated output of 800 kW; the total output is 3.2 MW. The plant was built in 2003 and 2004 on behalf of the Consorcio de Residuos Sólidos Urbanos de Menorca and was the first wind farm on the Balearic Islands. The standard work capacity is around 5.5 GWh per year. The mean wind speed at the location is 6.7 meters / second; the wind direction is mainly north-east and south-west. It is fed into the Gesa-Endesa network. The park was built by Gestacur SL with headquarters in Albacete .

The wind farm is located around 6 kilometers north of Menorca Airport , in the approach lane to runway 19, has obstacle lights (OBSL = obstruction lights) and is recorded in the official aeronautical charts and approach sheets.
