Menorca-Mallorca submarine cables
A 132 kV submarine cable connects Menorca with Mallorca. It runs from the Ciutadella substation to the Celan Bosch cable transfer station 39 ° 55 ′ 55 ″ N , 3 ° 50 ′ 1 ″ E , where the underwater cable from Mallorca ends. At Cala Mesquida on Mallorca, the submarine cable passes into the overhead line network of Mallorca at the cable transfer station 39 ° 44 ′ 19 ″ N , 3 ° 25 ′ 38 ″ E. Formentera
The island is supplied by the Central Térmica de Ibiza via 30 kV submarine cable and, since 2007, a 69 kV submarine cable has also connected Formentera with the power plant on Ibiza. An auxiliary diesel with 10 MW is available for emergencies at the Ca Mari substation.
