The Menorca Airport ( Spanish Aeropuerto de Menorca , IATA code : MAH , ICAO code : LEMH ) on the island of Menorca is one of three international airports in the Balearic Islands (next to Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza ). It is located 4.5 km southwest of the island's capital, Maó . The only terminal has 16 gates. The airport replaced the San Luis airfield in 1969 , which is now used for general aviation .
Airlines and Destinations
The five main airlines are Vueling Airlines , Air Nostrum , easyJet , TUI Airways and Jet2.com . Low-cost airlines now account for around 52 percent of the passenger volume .
The airport has a predominantly tourist character and is a destination for European charter flights , especially in the summer months . In addition, there are regular scheduled flight connections, in particular to mainland Spain ( Madrid , Barcelona ) and Mallorca as well as to other European destinations. Most of the passengers to Menorca are recorded in Spain, the United Kingdom and Italy .
