The Reus Airport ( IATA : REU , ICAO : LERS ; . Katal Aeroport de Reus , . Span Aeropuerto de Reus ) is the commercial airport of the Catalan town of Reus on the Costa Daurada , about 89 kilometers southwest of Barcelona .

Location and transport links

Reus Airport is located four kilometers southeast of Reus , nine kilometers northwest of Tarragona and about 80 kilometers southwest of Barcelona Airport . It offers good connections to Cambrils and Salou .

  • Bus : Buses run several times a day between the airport and Sants train station in Barcelona , which is about a 90-minute drive away . There are also bus connections to Reus, Cambrils and Tarragona.
  • Car : From Barcelona you can reach the airport after about 110 kilometers via the E 15 and N 420 (exit 34 towards Tarragona).

Airlines and Destinations

In the summer Reus Airport is used almost exclusively by low-cost and charter airlines such as Ryanair , Jet2.com , TUI Airways and Thomas Cook Airlines to bring travelers from other European countries to the Costa Dorada or Barcelona . In winter only Ryanair uses the airport and operates flights to London-Stansted .

In June 2011 Ryanair announced that it would liquidate its base previously operated in Reus and discontinue 28 flight connections operated from here. This finally took place at the end of October 2011 at the start of the new flight plan. In the period from November 2011 to April 2012, the airport will be closed for the first time seasonally, as there is no longer sufficient air traffic in the winter months.
