The Lüdingworth windmill in Cuxhaven - Lüdingworth , Scheidungsweg 8, is a listed building in Lower Saxony and is included in the list of architectural monuments in the outskirts of the city of Cuxhaven .

history

As Bull mill one was Bockmühle 1563 mentioned as Johann bull she bought. This mill was destroyed by a storm in 1901.

In 1902 a small tower windmill or Erdholländermühle with a cylindrical, tower-like mill house made of plastered stone and the rotatable hood with compass rose as well as a grinding and grist tunnel takes place here . In contrast to the other windmills, however, it does not have a gallery. It has been called Steffens Mühle since 1925 after it was bought by Müller Georg Steffens. In 1927 she got a diesel engine. At first it had louvre blades , which were replaced by lighter sail gate blades after storm damage . Until 1960 she still milled with wind power. Until 1989, Müller Haase worked with an electric motor.

The closed mill then fell into disrepair. A holiday apartment was installed in the building, which was renovated in 1994, and parts of the mill equipment were removed. The house acquired by the Pauly family was now named Windmühle Betty after the wife's first name Bettina. Today (2020) there is a vacation home here.

It is part of the Lower Saxony Mühlenstrasse .
