The St.-Johannis-Mühle (also called Johannismühle ) is a windmill built in 1808 in Flensburg , which is located on the corner of Kappelner Strasse and An der Johannismühle on a hill in the Sandberg district of Flensburg . In addition to the mountain mill in the north of Flensburg , the two-story gallery Dutchman is one of the last two mills in the city, which was once characterized by 24 water mills and 30 windmills, and the only windmill in eastern Flensburg.

Sandberg district of Flensburg

The tenants of the royal mill, monastery chairman Ricklef Ingwersen, broker Andreas Boysen and the merchant Hans Petersen-Schmidt, who had the mountain mill built 18 years earlier, built St. Johannismühle in 1808 as their third property mill. Although grain has not been ground there since 1939, the Johannismühle was able to be preserved from the outside after restoration work by the Wohnungsbau GmbH . The city of Flensburg, which has owned the mill since 1927, placed the building under monument protection in 1971 .
