The under monument protection standing Bergmuehle ( Danish Bjergmølle ), a Dutch mill from 1792, is located in Flensburg northern city and is adjacent to the Johannismühle on the Sandberg one of the last two windmills of the town. Once upon a time, numerous mills, there were a total of 24 water mills and 30 wind mills, shaped the image of the trading city on the Flensburg Fjord .

Leaseholder of the royal mill, ruler Ricklef Ingwersen, broker Andreas Boysen and the merchant Hans Petersen-Schmidt, built the mountain mill in 1792 as a gallery Dutchman on a hill in the north of the city, the Krummberg near the Bau'er Landstrasse. In 1875 the mill was rebuilt; a wind rose ( side wheel ) was retrofitted, which was retained until the 1970s. Grain was ground in the mill until 1956, when the building, like three years later, suffered severe storm damage; Flensburg's last windmill was Wilhelm Bremer (1895–1965). After that, a beverage company used the building, which was registered in the monument book in 1971, as a storage area. Today the wings only turn on special occasions. The mill is owned by the private association for the preservation of the mountain mill , founded by 30 citizens in 1981 , which took part in the comprehensive restoration of the building in 1990 , whereby the original shape as a Steert mill (without compass rose) was restored, so that the mountain mill has been back since 1995 is functional.

The Dutch Mill is opened several times a year for visitors and for some years now allows civil registry Flensburg pairs, there dare to leave.
