The Eemmeerdijk wind farm is a wind farm built in 1998 on the Eemmeerdijk in Zeewolde in the southwest of Flevoland . The park consists of 19 turbines from the manufacturer Nedwind with a tower height of 60 meters and a rotor diameter of 55 meters. Each Nedwind 50 turbine has an output of one megawatt . In total, this results in an installed capacity of 19 megawatts. A special feature of the Eemmeerdijk wind farm is that all wind turbines used are two-bladed rotors, while almost all of the larger wind turbines use three-bladed rotors. The construction of the wind farm was preceded by a nine-year dispute with the local approval authorities and environmental groups.
The wind turbines are arranged in a line 4500 meters long. The wind farm supplies around 11,000 households with electricity.
In order to minimize the visual impact, the towers of the facilities are painted in different colors, which should be in harmony with the surrounding landscape.
