The Jüchen A44n wind farm is a wind farm under construction on both sides of the 44 federal motorway in the south of the urban area of Jüchen , on the border with Bedburg . It consists of six wind turbines .

history

At the beginning of 2018, the first reports on the plans for six new wind turbines in the southern urban area of Jüchen on the recultivated area of the Garzweiler open-cast lignite mine were reported. In January 2020, the future operators, innogy SE and NEW Re GmbH , won the bid for the project at an auction by the Federal Network Agency . Innogy has a 51 percent stake and NRW Re a 49 percent stake in the cooperation project. Construction work began in April 2020. The first wind turbine is expected to be completed in March 2021, and the project is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2021. In May 2020 it was announced that Nordex SE had been commissioned to supply and erect the six N149 / 4.0-4.5 turbines.

technology

In total, the six wind turbines will have an installed capacity of 27 MW and will be able to supply around 26,000 households every year.
