The wind farm Weissenberg is since December 2016 in-service wind farm in Marburg-Biedenkopf . It is located in the area of the municipality of Dautphetal and the city of Biedenkopf . Five of the six plants are located in the Dautphetal area in the Dautphe and Silberg districts . The wind farm has six Enercon E-115 wind turbines, each with an installed capacity of three megawatts. The forecast electricity generation is 41.4 million kWh per year. This means that 10,000 four-person households can be supplied with electricity. Together with the neighboring Schwarzenberg wind farm, the wind farm forms a "wind farm". The investment volume is stated at 32 million euros.

Planning and construction

In 2013 the project was first made public in a public meeting. The permit application was submitted in December 2014 and approved in February 2016. The planning approval decision was available in 2015. Construction began at the end of 2015. The first wind turbine produced its first electricity on September 29th. The entire wind farm was commissioned on December 1, 2016. After the first 300 hours of operation, the systems are accepted.

Nature conservation requirements

The project planner was ordered by the Upper Forest Authority to erect a ten-kilometer fence around the construction site. This provision was requested for the first time. It is intended to prevent work outside the approved zone.

To compensate for the clearing, around seven hectares of forest were reforested and 18 were created for wild cats.

To protect cranes and bats, the systems are temporarily switched off.
