Winfried Michel (* 1948 in Fulda ) is a German composer , recorder player and music editor.

Life

Winfried Michel studied recorder with Ingetraud Drescher and Nikolaus Delius at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg , and with Frans Brüggen he passed the soloist examination. Michel was a lecturer for recorder at the Music Academy Kassel and until his retirement in July 2016 at the State University of Music Münster. In addition to his own works, Michel composed and published numerous works under the pseudonym Giovanni Paolo Simonetti or Giovanni Paolo Tomesini , all of which are in the style of the 17th and early 18th centuries.
