The Wahl Glacier is a 16 km long glacier in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Alexandra chain of the Transantarctic Mountains, it flows from the Grindley Plateau in a north-westerly direction to the upper section of the Lennox-King Glacier , which it reaches west of Mount Mackellar . The Wahl Glacier is located 5630 km as the crow flies from Sydney , Australia, and 678 km south of McMurdo Station .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1966 after the German physicist and rocket developer Bruno Wahl (1928-2000), who was active in the Antarctic winter of 1962 on studies of the ionosphere at McMurdo Station. Rocks near the glacier are rich in fossils .
