The Winfriedschule Fulda is a G9 grammar school in the district of Fulda , which accepts students from the beginning of grade 5 and leads to general higher education entrance qualification ( Abitur ) in nine years . The name of the Winfried School is derived from the school patron Winfried Bonifatius , the founder of the city of Fulda .
General information
As a rule, the years consist of five parallel classes with around 120 students each. In the upper level of the Gymnasium, around 100 students are taught in each year.
The Winfried School is a culture school of the State of Hesse and a MINT-EC school . In addition, it offers extensive foreign language lessons as well as a differentiated sports profile ("Moving 5 and 6"; continuous advanced courses in sports). The following foreign languages are taught at the Winfried School:

Profile classes
So-called MuKu classes have existed for many years, in which pupils with a special artistic or musical talent are taught. The Winfried School offers an E-PLUS class for pupils with advanced knowledge of English from elementary school or with a bilingual background. The profile subjects are increasingly taught in both profile classes.
Elective classes
In grades 9 and 10, students choose to take part in elective courses that build on each other in the curriculum for two years. In addition to the third foreign language, offers are available according to the two profiles MINT-EC and KulturSchule. For example, the learners can choose the subject of performing games, which can be continued in the upper level and continued through to the Abitur, or can take courses in the MINT area. The MINT whale lessons are primarily aimed at expanding competencies in the context of presenting - in this area the Winfried School is a certified “youth presenting” school.
KuNa (cultural afternoon) for grades 5 and 6
As the cultural school of the State of Hesse, the Winfriedschule offers students in grades 5 and 6 a wide range of cultural and MINT programs in one afternoon:

Art, Music and Performing Games
Numerous art exhibitions inside and outside the school are an expression of lively artistic work. The Winfried School was invited to exhibit student work for a year in the premises of the Hessian Ministry of Culture. Two big concerts in the school year with the choirs and instrumental ensembles (string and wind instruments group, school orchestra, big band) as well as a musical performance every two years - just like the annual theater performances - underline the great commitment of students and teachers in this area of the school work.
location
The school is conveniently located between the castle gardens and the park on Frauenberg and can be reached in a few minutes on foot or by city bus from both the train station and the bus station in the city center.
