Vincent Paronnaud , stage name Winshluss (* 1970 in La Rochelle ), is a French comic artist , screenwriter and director . He became known to a wide audience as co-director of the films Persepolis and Chicken with Plums .

Life

Paronnaud began his career with first publications in the fanzine Les Aventures de Miguel in 1995. He published several comics in collaboration with the French comic artist Cizo , with whom he also brought out two short films. His first own album Super Negra was created in 1999.

Together with the Iranian comic artist Marjane Satrapi , he published their graphic novel Persepolis as an animated film in 2007 . Both directed and they also drew most of the film sequences. The film has won several awards, including the jury award at the Cannes International Film Festival in 2007, and it was also nominated for an Oscar . In 2011, the duo's second film, Chicken with Plums, was released .
