The firm Winston Battery Ltd. , founded in 1988 emerged from the Thunder Sky Green Power Sources Co., Ltd. is one in Shenzhen ( China -based) company with a registered capital of 130 million RMB . Along with the American company A123 Systems, it is one of the largest manufacturers of lithium iron phosphate batteries in a wide variety of sizes on the world market.
According to the company, the newly built factory complex "New Energy Winston Base" is the world's largest production site for the processing of rare earths and for the manufacture of yttrium - and sulfur - doped lithium iron phosphate batteries. In cooperation with the Russian company Rusnano , Winston Battery built the first Russian production facility for lithium iron phosphate batteries in the Novosibirsk area.
Products
Winston Battery Ltd manufactures a wide range of lithium-ion batteries based on LiFeYPO 4 as the cathode material. Cells from 20 Ah for electric scooters to 1000 Ah for battery-electric buses are manufactured, as well as cell blocks up to 30,000 Ah for submarines and the storage of electrical energy from regenerative sources . Winston Battery Ltd is not only a supplier of battery cells and the associated charging technology and monitoring electronics, but also a manufacturer of electric cars , scooters and electric buses. The battery cells have the EC Declaration of Conformity and are certified according to:
- EN 61000-6-3: 2007
- EN 61000-6-1: 2007
The accumulators offer high operational reliability, cycle stability and service life with low weight. Thanks to the automated production, you have a comparatively low price. The disadvantage is the lower energy density compared to other battery systems, which increases the space required.
Applications
In Germany, numerous electric vehicle projects use these cells as traction batteries , for example:
- Citysax electric car
- Stromos electric car
- Conversion kit Elektro-Smart
- Conversion of the CityEl light vehicle (original lead-acid batteries)
- Conversion of an electric car Hotzenblitz (original lead-acid batteries)
