Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Soul is the third studio album by German singer Jan Delay . It was released on August 14, 2009 on Universal Records .

history

The album shows - instead of the soul , which is mentioned in the album title - strong funk influences. Jan Delay said that he had already wanted to make a radio record at Mercedes-Dance , but didn't know “how to do it”. “At some point I thought, okay, now I know how such a radio record works.” The song title Rave Against the Machine is an allusion to the band Rage Against the Machine , the album title a play on words with the title of the famous book Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo .

reception

Laut.de gave the album 4 out of 5 stars. Dani Fromm headed her criticism as follows: “Anyone who remains motionless here is deaf or dead.” The “mission” to publish a “dance record” has been “fulfilled”. The album reached number 1 in Germany, number 2 in Austria and number 1 in Switzerland .

Trivia

The Hamburg Sternbrücke , known for the trendy clubs Astra Stube , Waagenbau and Fundbureau , is shown on the album cover .
