Mercedes-Dance Live is the first live album by Jan Delay and his band Disko No. 1 , it was released by Universal in 2007 .

Emergence

After completing Mercedes-Dance , his second solo album, Jan Delay was faced with the question of whether and how he should go on tour with it in 2006. Most of the tracks were produced with the help of a computer; some musicians had recorded individual tracks at his invitation. Delay decided to try to put together a live band from the musicians involved, which still required a few line-up changes.

Due to the success of the tour, the desire arose to record a live album, especially since some of the tracks, some of them live, differ significantly from their studio version. As part of the Mercedes-Dance tour , the concerts in Zurich , Mannheim and Cologne were recorded and then put together into an album.

Choice of title

In addition to the tracks from Mercedes Dance (with the exception of the instrumental “Gasthaus zum laughing Stalin”), “Poisoned” and “The Sun That Shines” can also be heard from Delay's debut album Searching for the Jan Soul Rebels .

Mercedes-Dance Live also contains two cover versions . "Forever and you" by Rio Reiser and " Irgendwie, somewhere, sometime " by Nena .. The mashup "Türlich, Türlich / Word Up" combines two titles from Das Bo and Cameo , the title was later released as a single .

On the other hand, the moderation and announcements between the titles were omitted.
