Hammer & Michel is the fourth studio album by the German singer Jan Delay . It was released on April 11, 2014 on Universal Records .
reception
Reactions to the album were mostly negative. The Musikexpress criticizes the fact that the album remains "largely at the German rock level of a fairly modernized Udo Lindenberg " and denies him the rock genre. Der Spiegel also notes that this “has absolutely nothing to do with rock'n'roll [...], similar to recently with Heino and his rocker record.” Laut.de rates the album two out of five stars and writes that "[d] umpfe, monotonous stomping rhythms that every school band gets on the row in their first days together in the musty rehearsal room" determine the picture. On the other hand, Der Tagesspiegel thinks that "his switch from funk to rock [...] [seems] to be well received by the fans."

Originally the CD produced by Jan Delay was supposed to be released in the summer of 2013, but the rock music was harder for the singer to produce than expected. The CD was released by Universal Music Group's record label Vertigo in April 2014. Delay composed all of the songs under his real name Jan Phillip Eißfeldt together with Kaspar Wiens , Lieven Brunckhorst , Alexander Busse , Loomis Green , Sebastian John , Philipp Kacza , Jonas Landerschier , Jost Nickel and Olli Wong .
