We need to talk! was a German television program , which was based on the "improvisational comedy" ( impromptu comedy , improvisational theater ). It was recorded on a television set without a script . First the improv comedy was broadcast at 10:15 pm, due to very poor ratings it was moved to the night program on Sat.1 on September 24, 2010 and ran at 12:10 am after the " Oliver Pocher Show ".
Concept and content
We need to talk! played in an Italian restaurant called "Trinachria", where friends Annette Pfeiffer ( Annette Frier ) and Cordula van Grooten ( Cordula Stratmann ) met to talk. This also included Stephano ( Johann von Bülow ), the waiter who served the two friends and actively intervened in the action. At the beginning of each episode, Annette and Cordula received an introductory scenario in the form of a short text that they had to use for orientation. There was no script.
Production and broadcast
After Cordula Stratmann left the successful improv comedy series Schillerstrasse because she wanted to devote herself to new projects, she developed her own improv comedy together with Annette Frier. This stood out from what was already there in that there was no live audience to entertain. The first season contained eight episodes, depending on the success there should be further seasons. However, the success of the new improv series was not rated. The ratings remained permanently below the station average. Sat.1 responded by shifting the format to the night program at 00:10.
Merchandise
Despite bad ratings, the first season “We need to talk!” Was released on DVD on October 15, 2010. This includes all eight episodes of the first season and the respective making-of.
Guest stars
In addition to the three main actors, there were also various guest stars such as Bastian Pastewka and Til Schweiger .
